When ordinary people first get their driver’s license, they usually start driving one of their parents’ cars. If they’re lucky or have saved up a decent amount of money, they might buy a new car. Usually, these cars are affordable (often second-hand), reliable and straightforward, like the Mazda 3, the Honda Civic, or the Toyota Corolla. But when you're one of the rich kids of Instagram and money is no object, your first car is likely to be something much more extravagant.

This article will showcase some cars driven by those who flaunt their wealth and their luxurious cars on Instagram. While they come from different countries and backgrounds, they all share a penchant for luxury goods, fast cars, and ostentatious shows of wealth. Many of these individuals have multiple vehicles for different occasions and so often have the choice of several “first cars” upon receiving their driver’s licenses.
These individuals also regularly travel abroad and drive different cars in different cities. What constitutes the perfect “first car” obviously depends on where you live. A convertible Ferrari would be perfect for the coast of Florida but would get utterly destroyed in the snowy streets of Montreal during wintertime. Like the high-end Mercedes and the Porsches, the Tesla Model S features several luxury features, most notably autopilot, which rich kids love to show off on social media. Instead of watching the road, these rich kids are busy watching their followers and likes. What we wouldn't give for even half their money.

recently gushed how his son, who's only 17, currently drives an $88,000 BMW M4. While a new BMW M4 starts around $72,000, this particular M4 clearly had some upgrades to push it close to $90,000. An absurd amount of money, even if you've saved years for it.
The BMW M4 stuffs a 3.0L six-cylinder that makes over 500 horsepower under the hood. It's hard to argue with the M4, though. The superb driving experience is aided by a refined manual transmission and adaptive suspension. Further, the M4 can hit 60 in less than 4 seconds, so highway driving is smooth for a newbie driver. It's just a shame you pretty much have to be a rich kid to get one.
20 BMW i8
Osborn Nweze is a Nigerian Prince who goes to the University of Surrey in Guildford, England. His car of choice for commuting to and from school is a $150,000 BMW i8. The i8 is one of the most futuristic-looking vehicles on the road with its butterfly doors and unique rear lights. The i8 is a great first car for a young, socially conscious millionaire, as the hybrid car is environmentally friendly.
The hybrid car combines a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine and an electric one, producing a combined total of 357 horsepower. This allows the car to go from 0-60 mph in just 4.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 155 mph (although the i8’s top speed is 75 mph when running on electric power alone).

The Bentley Continental GT is another great first-time car for the rich and famous. Starting at $201,225, the Bentley is available as a four-seat coupe or as a convertible and comes in several different configurations, including the base-model 500-horsepower GT with a V8 engine, the 521-horsepower S version (also powered by a V8), and the top-of-the-line 582-horsepower model powered by a massive 6.0-liter W-12 engine. The Bentayga is a “must-have“ vehicle for a wealthy teenager who won’t settle for less than the fastest SUV in the world.
Powered by a 6.0-liter W-12 engine, the Bentley SUV pumps out 600 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque and reaches a top speed of 187 mph. With a starting price of $231,825, only a select few can own this beast.
17 Ferrari 458 Italia
Instagram user @kirtancontact certainly has style. His red Ferrari 458 Italia is the perfect car for making a grand entrance on the first day of school or pulling up in front of a party and impressing all your peers. Kirtan’s Instagram page also shows him posted up with multiple Mercedes-AMG G-class SUVs, a Lamborghini Huracan, another Ferrari 458 Italia (in black), and a Roll-Royce Ghost.
The Ferrari 458 Italia is priced at around $230,000 and is powered by a 4.5-liter V8, which produces 570 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque. The 458 Italia is only sold with a 7-speed double-clutch transmission, which is perfect for teaching a first-time driver how to handle a manual car. With an active self-leveling suspension, the 458 is also sure to be a comfortable ride.

While the Jaguar XF isn’t cheap, it's still relatively modest and unpretentious when compared to some of the supercars featured on this list. The Jaguar XF is a well-engineered British luxury sedan and performs well with a 247-horsepower turbocharged engine. The XF can be purchased as an eight-speed automatic with an optional all-wheel-drive capability.
